JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for visiting a variety of customer locations via schedule picking up mail and delivering back to facility. Must have Class E credentials and ability to operate 24′ dock high vehicle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Inspect equipment for defects and safe operating condition (pre- and post-trip) as required by state/federal laws. 2. Perform safe and legal operation of motor vehicles. Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record. 3. Load and unload vehicle and move materials across the dock, either individually or with assistance of co-worker, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment, as required. 4. Record quantity and type of pickup using customer account forms and route sheets. 5. Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations. 6. Develop and maintain professional and effective relations between our company and our customers. 7. Maintaining the cleanliness of your truck 8. Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules in a safe, timely manner in accordance to with the route sheet schedule. 9. Operating equipment and machines, such as forklifts, hand trucks etc. 10. Must be prepared to work in any traffic or weather conditions according to the pickup locations. 11. Must be prepared and flexible to perform associated and related job functions that are not specifically identified in this job description.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Handle special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1. Strong organizational and time management skills. 2. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodations. 3. Ability to work in fast paced environment 4. Good communication skills 5. Demonstrate safe driving skills 6. Ability to adhere to and enforce all safety procedures 7. Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license 8. Must have a good driving record without major blemishes 9. At least 1 year driving experience 10. must pass all pre-employment and background checks, including drug screening. 11. must have good interpretation skills and able to read maps, follow GPS directions, and efficiently navigate highways and roads. 12. Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations that govern a safe work environment. 13. Pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma Or equivalent acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Performance evaluation is based on several criteria that may include but not limited to quality of work, work habits, relationships with people, supervising work of others, personnel management practices, quality service, customer satisfaction commitments and attendance. Must have Class E driver’s license.
