DESCRIPTION

Assist with the handling of all incoming and outgoing raw materials and finished goods to complete daily work schedule as designated in the Daily Log book and in accordance with established policies and safety practices.

EQUIPMENT

Material handling equipment, forklift and production equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position. 1.Load/Unload trucks ensuring that all trailer tires are properly chocked, the trailer air locks is in place, box weights are verified, and incoming loads are counted. Check freight bills for correct material and quantities before signing invoices. Sweep out trailers for outgoing loads, sort loads when applicable, distribute and/or dispose of pallets and debris when trucks have left. Check lot numbers and quantities to ensure orders are correct. 2.Organize; move and store scrap to upper levels. Sort scrap on a daily basis. 3.Organize finished goods by lot number and location for inventory purposes. Organize and/or move raw materials and shipping supplies within the designated areas as instructed by supervision. 4.Assist in daily and monthly inventory of all finished goods stored. Check weights on boxes; perform counts. 5.Be knowledgeable in all warehouse safety practices. This includes but is not limited to the safe operation of the forklift, trailer inspection, verification that chains are utilized across docks when not in use, and verification that wheels are chocked. Inform supervision of any safety deficiencies or equipment maintenance needs. 6.Complete daily receiving log each time a shipment is received documenting date of receipt, company name, item, lot numbers, invoice quantity, actual quantity, received by and location. 7.Perform all other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

1.Tactile/Senses – Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; must be able to talk and hear to communicate with co-workers and management. Must be able to see and hear to operate material handling equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 2.Lifting – Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to move small boxes. 3.Walking/Standing – Must be able to walk/stand continuously to perform job duties. The employee frequently is required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Additionally, the employee may be required to perform work at heights and in both hot and cold outdoor weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.High School diploma or equivalent. 2.Minimum 1 year prior experience in an industrial or processing environment. 3.Must be able to communicate professional and effectively with co-workers and supervisors.

Shifts are 8 hour shifts. Monday through Friday 7 a.m. through 4 p.m. Rotating weekend duties are Saturday or Sunday for approximately 4 hours (7 a.m. until 11 a.m.) as needed.
