Position Summary:
Responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of lumber andbuilding materials to customer locations. Must be willing and ableto operate traditional and a truck mounted forklift.
Position Responsibilities:
Operate commercial vehicles, including tractor trucks withtrailers and forklifts, to transport lumber and building materialsto customer sites in a timely and safe manner. Comply with all transportation truck driving rules andregulations as well as with company policies and procedures. Serveas the primary point of contact with customers during deliveries,providing courteous and professional service at all times. Acts asinitial contact upon delivery to field and route customer inquiriesand concerns quickly and effectively, ensuring customersatisfaction. Collaborate with warehouse staff and other team members tocoordinate deliveries, resolve issues, and ensure smoothoperations. Load and unload materials onto and off of trailers, ensuringproper securing and handling to prevent damage duringtransit. Conduct thorough inspection of materials before loading andupon delivery to ensure accuracy and quality standards aremaintained. Efficiently execute and assist in planning delivery routes tooptimize time and fuel usage while meeting customer deliveryrequirements. Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timelymanner, including delivery tickets, logbooks, fuel receipts, andinspection reports. Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and cleaning ondelivery vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliableoperation. Reports any mechanical issues or concerns for promptresolution. All other duties as needed or assigned.
Education/FormalTraining:
Valid NC CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with acceptabledriving record.
Work Experience:
Experience operating Tractor and Trailer navigating jobsites Experience operating a truck mounted forklift Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe drivingpractices. Basic math skills for measuring and calculatingmaterials Previous experience in the lumber and building materialsindustry preferred Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends andovertime as needed.

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted Frequent climbing, driving, pushing, pulling to perform jobduties Warehouse/Lumberyard environment
