Non-CDL Driver Position Available In Buncombe, North Carolina

Description:

The Non-CDL Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and courteous delivery of building materials to our customers. This role is critical to ensuring timely job site support and reinforcing SBSI’s reputation for outstanding service. The driver also assists with loading, securing, and unloading of materials while adhering to all safety procedures and DOT regulations for non-CDL vehicles.

Safety & Compliance:

Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting all issues immediatelyEnsure that all loads are properly secured using company-approved methods (straps, tarps, etc.)Operate vehicle in accordance with all DOT regulations, state laws, and SBSI safety standardsUse proper lifting techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all timesActively participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talksIdentify and report unsafe conditions or near-misses in real time to promote a culture of safetyMaintain a clean and organized vehicle to reduce hazards and enhance professional appearance

Customer Service:

Greet all customers and site contacts with professionalism and a customer-first attitudeEnsure materials are delivered to the correct location and in excellent conditionAssist in verifying material quantities and resolving delivery discrepanciesCommunicate respectfully and clearly with customers, site supervisors, and dispatchersRepresent SBSI’s values and commitment to service excellence at every job siteProactively communicate ETAs, delays, or delivery concerns to keep customers informed

Driver Knowledge & Operational Support:

Understand how to read and interpret delivery tickets, load lists, and route mapsNavigate efficiently using GPS systems, route planning apps, or local knowledgeKnow how to operate a variety of delivery vehicles under 26,000 lbs. GVWR, including flatbeds, stake beds, and pickup trucksAssist with material handling, staging, and loading/unloading with forklifts or manuallyMaintain detailed delivery logs, fuel receipts, and signed documentation per SBSI standardsSupport warehouse and yard operations when not on delivery routes

Qualifications:
