Operator – Whiteville, NC / Conway, SC 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars Whiteville, NC 28472
Accountability:
Performs and supports all roles on a shift at our Conway and Whiteville locations. Ensuring timely and accurate transloading of material between railcars, trucks, storage facilities, minimizing delays and product loss. Maintaining accurate records of materials handled, equipment usage, and safety checks in accordance with company procedures.
Responsibilities:
Transfer materials from railcars to trucks using forklift, grapple trucks, conveyors, pumps, or other equipment Ensure proper alignment and secure connections between railcars and unloading systems Operate forklifts, grapple trucks, conveyors, pumps and other mobile fixed equipment safety and efficiently Perform pre-shift inspections and routine maintenance on equipment. Complete job safety analyses and report any hazards or incidents Coordinate with truck drivers, rail crews and dispatch teams to ensure smooth operations. Maintain logs and communicate updates to supervisors and corporate offices Track and record material volumes, equipment usage, and maintenance activities Use basic computer systems to enter data and generate reports Meeting loading deadlines, adhering to shift schedules Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:
High-energy individual with a strong work ethic Self-motivated with ability to work with limited supervision Independent decision maker as needed to accomplish tasks Ability to provide accurate entry of data and ability to handle administrative tasks as assigned Must be flexible to work as needed to serve the customer’s needs Knowledge of OSHA, FRA, and environmental safety standards. Familiarity with digital inventory tracking and reporting tools. Skills in inspecting and maintaining equipment to prevent breakdowns.
Physical Requirements:
Requires constant standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and balancing in a safe manner Requires occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching Able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 lbs. Requires frequent twisting while operating equipment, especially forklift
Environmental Conditions:
Must be able to perform specified duties outside in all weather conditions

Must keep pace with growing needs and expectations of the position
