CDL Driver Job Description Our CDL Drivers play a crucial role in ensuring that our products are delivered safely, completely, and on time to our customers. As representatives of our company, our Drivers exemplify our organization’s values and prioritize safety above all else. Hours The working hours for this job are from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional overtime as needed. Overnight stays are not a requirement for this role. Responsibilities Drive large building supplies through mountainous terrain. Deliver and pick up goods from local construction sites. Operate forklifts to unload building materials. Hand load, unload, stack, and stage products. Maintain accurate records of activities, cargo deliveries, and hours logged. Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and report mechanical issues to management. Keep the truck clean and presentable. Report road incidents to management and follow accident procedures. Adhere to DOT, state, and local traffic laws. Plan routes using a GPS system and ensure timely arrivals. Deliver exceptional customer service and report customer concerns to management. Mentor and coach junior-level drivers as needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Essential Skills Current CDL Class B driver’s license. High school diploma or GED. Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test. Driving record that meets company standards. Ability to pass all applicable health benchmarks and provide a medical certificate, unless exempted. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong attention to detail with a distraction-free driving style. Comprehensive understanding of logistics systems. Work Environment Our drivers will navigate long distances through mountainous terrain and various weather conditions, including snow and rain. The work environment involves exposure to extreme temperatures, ranging from intense heat to severe cold. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Black Mountain, North Carolina. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52000.00 – $63000.00/yr.
