The Non-CDL Driveris responsible for the safe, efficient, and courteous delivery ofbuilding materials to our customers. This role is critical toensuring timely job site support and reinforcing SBSI’s reputationfor outstanding service. The driver also assists with loading,securing, and unloading of materials while adhering to all safetyprocedures and DOT regulations for non-CDL vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety & Compliance:

• Perform thoroughpre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting all issuesimmediately
• Ensure that all loads are properly secured usingcompany-approved methods (straps, tarps, etc.)
• Operate vehicle inaccordance with all DOT regulations, state laws, and SBSI safetystandards
• Use proper lifting techniques and personal protectiveequipment (PPE) at all times
• Actively participate in safetymeetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks
• Identify andreport unsafe conditions or near-misses in real time to promote aculture of safety
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle toreduce hazards and enhance professional appearance

CustomerService:

• Greet all customers and site contacts withprofessionalism and a customer-first attitude
• Ensure materialsare delivered to the correct location and in excellent condition
• Assist in verifying material quantities and resolving deliverydiscrepancies
• Communicate respectfully and clearly withcustomers, site supervisors, and dispatchers
• Represent SBSI’svalues and commitment to service excellence at every job site
• Proactively communicate ETAs, delays, or delivery concerns to keepcustomers informed

Driver Knowledge & Operational Support:

• Understand how to read and interpret delivery tickets, load lists,and route maps
• Navigate efficiently using GPS systems, routeplanning apps, or local knowledge
• Know how to operate a varietyof delivery vehicles under 26,000 lbs. GVWR, including flatbeds,stake beds, and pickup trucks
• Assist with material handling,staging, and loading/unloading with forklifts or manually
• Maintain detailed delivery logs, fuel receipts, and signeddocumentation per SBSI standards
• Support warehouse and yardoperations when not on delivery routes

Qualifications:

• Validdriver’s license with an excellent driving record
• At least 1 yearof relevant driving or delivery experience preferred
• Familiaritywith common building materials and safe handling practices a plus
• Strong time management skills with the ability to workindependently
• Forklift experience or certification preferred
• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 75 lbs. repeatedly
• Commitment to safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
