POSITION SUMMARY

: The Transportation Leader directs andimplements automotive transportation schedules for Residents at alllevels of care within the campus environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

:

Maintains HIPAA standards and regards all medical or healthcareinformation pertaining to residents and employees as confidential.

Responsible for driving members/residents off the community’spremises for scheduled outings and appointments. Participates inmeetings for the Member Services Department to develop a scheduleof social and recreational activities. The Transportation Leadershall support this by bringing ideas, resources, and memberinterests to the meeting to assist in the development ofprogramming for all levels of care. Communicates with the Conciergeor Social Director daily to learn of current and futuretransportation routes and appointments. Assists members/residentsin and out of company vehicles. Prioritizes times, routes and needsto accommodate the greatest number of Residents. Helpsmembers/residents to and from bus, van or car and into thedestination place if needed. Participates in scheduled activitiesas requested and encourage resident participation. Reports anyproblems with members to the Social Director or HealthcareAdministrator upon return to the campus. Reports any trafficviolation committed during working hours immediately to supervisor.

Acquires and maintains knowledge of all safety procedurespertaining to the vehicles and residents. Utilizes knowledge intimes of emergency, breakdowns or accidents. Schedules and performsroutine maintenance on vehicles at appropriate time intervals.

Keeps motor vehicle maintenance records and shares any problems oradverse vehicular situations with the Director of FacilitiesServices. Maintains power on the cell phone assigned to theposition or car and keeps phone at hand during working hours.

Full Physical Demands, Work Environment, andExpected Hours of Work:

The physical demands described here arerepresentative of those that must be met by an employee tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must beable to assist members and residents in and out of transportationvehicles. An individual in this position is often required to read,write, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feelobjects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance,stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and/or hear. An individual in thisposition will be required to lift or carry weight up to 25 lbs.

Must be free of diseases that can be transmitted in the performanceof job responsibilities during the stage of communicability unlessthe associate can be given duties that minimize the likelihood oftransmission. May be exposed to minimal to moderate noise andexposure to blood and/or body fluids. Also may experience traumaticsituations including psychiatric and deceased residents.

TRAVEL:

Local and out of state travel in company transportation forappointments, functions, events, outings and emergency situations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Transportation experiencerequired. Two years’ experience in a similar transportationposition desired. Must have a valid driver’s license andsatisfactory driving record as specified by the company and by thecompany’s automobile insurance carrier. Ability to be CPR certifiedat company’s expense.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.

Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctualitystandards. Ability to use miscellaneous software and officeequipment. Ability to understand and follow directions as given.

Ability to work with minimal supervision. SLC2
