PRIMARY PURPOSE
In this role as a Salvage Associate, you will be responsible for efficiently and safely moving and maintaining all salvage material. Being a motivated self-starter and team member, you will also maintain the upkeep and cleanliness of all fleet trailers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Unload all salvage trailers returning from retail stores Separate milk crates, milk pallets, cardboard bales, banana boxes, cigarette totes, store returns, store transfers, bread trays, and plastic bales Separate plastic clean, dirty, and/or empty pallets Sweep out and prepare fleet trailers for shipping departments Load salvage trailers with milk crates for pick up from dairy Load reclaim product to be shipped to reclaim center Wash the interior of trailers Separate, sort, and load bad pallets. Load plastic trailers, cardboard trailers, and vendor pallets (CHEP/PECO) Key completed trailers into Yard Management System (where applicable) Maintain communication with the switcher to ensure accurate and timely trailer moves Follow proper sanitation practices; keep work area clean and free of debris Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting work group or center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity Able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties
