The position works with the team to ensure the job site is completed in a timely manner. Performs typical duties in operating tanker trucks, including but not limited to proper operation, maintenance and safety checks associated with the specific machine. 2. Transporting crushed rock, sand, and gravel to and from specified locations. 3. Operates heavy equipment in safe and effective manner. 4. Coordinates excavation efforts with other drivers and/or operators. 5. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. 6. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations and preventative maintenance on machines as required. 7. Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above. 8. Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up. 9. Navigates from site to site and communicates effectively with builders. Work Environment This job operates in an outdoor environment. This role routinely uses construction equipment such as shovels, excavator, sweeper, ditch witch, and trencher.
