Driver Hendricks House Group 411 Aloe Street, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215 Job Summary The Hendricks House Group is a non-profit agency providing halfway house and intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment to men and women who reside at our residential facilities in Vineland, Galloway , and Millville through group, individual, family, peer support, shared experiences, counseling over an extended period of time – clients develop attitudes, skills, behaviors, and employment to sustain a sober, healthy, and responsible lifestyle. We are seeking reliable and dedicated part-time Drivers to join our team in Galloway (EHC). The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting clients safely in a timely manner while providing excellent customer service. This role requires adherence to safety regulations, the ability to handle various driving tasks, including route driving, strong attention to detail, and professionalism. This position is part-time . Duties Flexible to work Mon-Fri – between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 20 hours a week. Safely operate a vehicle to transport and pick up clients to/from intensive outpatient (IOP). Accounts for all passengers. Ensures all passengers are safely secured (seatbelts and locked doors). Transports clients to and/or from employment; to and from AA/NA meetings/events as per schedule. Follow assigned routes and schedules while maintaining timely transport. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance. Maintain accurate/up-to-date vehicle records (i.e. insurance and registration cards ), and logs (i.e. mileage, maintenance schedule (s)). Assures daily that vehicle(s) have the following: gas, oil, necessary fluids, first aid, and fire suppression equipment. Report needed repairs to Transportation Coordinator and Maintenance Supervisor in a timely fashion. Reports and completes accident reports – provides prompt information to Transportation Manager regarding anything that occurs which may potentially jeopardize the ability to physically or legally operate a van(s). Keeps vehicles clean and free of litter and ensures that clients adhere to policy. Adheres to agency’s cell phone policy. Drives without the use of a handheld mobile phone. Maintains and ensures compliance and policies and procedures are adhered. Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with (internal/external) clients (answers clients’ inquiries in a respectful manner), and staff . Must attend training and meetings as necessary. Renders first aid and CPR timely and appropriately. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience MUST hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential. Previous experience as a [van] passenger driver is preferred – minimum 3 years; preferably 5 years . Years of experience working with individuals in recovery and/or medical transportation is advantageous. Able to drive safely in various weather conditions. Familiarity with route driving and logistics is advantageous (Atlantic, [Camden], Cumberland, & Gloucester Counties). Familiarity with general vehicle maintenance. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Qualifications/Skills Must be comfortable driving a 15-passenger van (Sprinter). Must possess a high school diploma/GED . Knowledge of Atlantic County (Cumberland & Gloucester Counties are a plus). Ability to drive safely in various weather conditions. An insurable driver’s license is a must. Time management, detail oriented, and structured in approach to meet clients’ ETA’s. Valid CPR/First Aid certification or willing to become certified. Criminal background, physical, driver’s record must be cleared before employment begins. Knowledge of addiction treatment is preferred.
