POSITION OVERVIEW
Pick up and deliver freight between ServiceCenters and customers and support the selling process.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles(and triples, where applicable) and/or straight trucks Performdaily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment Hook/unhooktrailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailerPerform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manualequipment, including but not limited to: forklift, pallet jack andhand truck Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate toolsand supplies, including but not limited to: pallets, straps andrope Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary Verify andcomplete required documentation and reports Comply with hazardousmaterial regulations and procedures Collect cash or checks forfreight charges, as required, and maintain required documentationFollow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch asrequired, including but not limited to: delays, arrivals andequipment problems Communicate with customers to determine pick-upor delivery needs and solicit additional business Demonstrateinternal and external customer service Ask for additional businessfrom customers, and provide leads to sales for potential newopportunities May be required to perform chaining of vehicle tiresMay be required to perform job duties of a road driver or a dockemployee where operationally necessary Comply with all applicablelaws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures Performother duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a class A CommercialDriver’s License (CDL) with double/triple, hazardous materials andtank endorsements.• Automatic transmission CDL restriction allowed.
Must possess one (1) year experience within most recent three (3)years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver DevelopmentCourse Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based onhiring standards Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT)regulatory requirements under section 391 of the Federal MotorCarrier (FMC) regulations Long combination vehicles (LCV) (i.e.
Triple Trailers, Rocky Mountain Doubles, and Turnpike Doubles) areoperated in the states of AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH,OK, OR, SD and UT. LCV Drivers in these states must meet the LongCombination Vehicles (LCV) Qualification and Certification MinimumStandards Ability to count and perform basic math, with or withouta calculator Basic written and verbal communication skills(documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)Ability to lift/carry hand freight weighing up to 100 poundsseveral times a week. Ability to sit for extended periods of time,bend, twist, squat, climb in and out of truck Ability to followinstructions and complete required training Ability to workindependently and/or as a team member

Drivethroughout shift on all types of roads and in all types of weatherExposure to noise and vibration Exposure to dust and diesel fumesExposure to hazardous materials shipped and packaged under DOTregulations Hours may vary due to operational need •The HazardousMaterials endorsement must be obtained within 120 days of offeracceptance. An employee will not be allowed to drive a commercialmotor vehicle without this endorsement.

Actual pay is determined by job-relatedfactors permitted by law and relevant to the position, such asexperience, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job,performance, schedule, and work assignment. Pay:
Hourly Pay Range:
$31.71 – $36.71 per hour; if assigned linehaulduties,
Mileage Pay Range:
$0.7302 – $0.8452 per mile, plus fixedpay for certain linehaul-related tasks equal to a fraction of thehourly rate (3/4, 1/2, 1/4), not based on time taken.
