Job Description

Yard Jockey 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars Clifton, NJ 07012 Our client, a food manufacturing and distribution company , is looking for a Yard Jockey to join their team in Clifton, NJ . This role involves operating yard trucks, managing trailer movements, and ensuring efficient yard operations to support warehouse and plant functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain an organized and efficient storage lot. Operate yard trucks safely during loading/unloading procedures. Move vehicles at low speeds within the plant and staging areas. Conduct freight pickups and drop-offs at 3PL storage facilities when required. Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on equipment. Keep accurate movement logs and ensure all loaded trailers are secured with padlocks. Communicate with dispatch, operations, and plant personnel via phone or radio. Follow plant safety protocols and collaborate with warehouse teams. Assist in securing valuable commodities and maintaining yard security. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

Must have CDL license +5 years of experience as a Yard Jockey is a MUST Strong attention to safety and ability to operate vehicles in confined spaces. Familiarity with preventive maintenance and vehicle upkeep. Effective communication skills for coordination with dispatch and plant personnel. Ability to work in various yard conditions (asphalt, concrete, gravel).

$25.00

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Flexibility required).
