CDL Class A Truck Driver 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars Watervliet, NY Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate routes effectively. The Truck Driver will operate different types of trucks, including flatbed, dump truck, and low boys, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations. Duties Operate commercial vehicles safely and professionally, including but not limited to: dump trucks, flatbeds, and low boys. Execute route driving to deliver equipment and materials from our yard to designated locations in a timely manner. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations. Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations while on the road. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours Maintain accurate log of deliveries and complete required paperwork for billing Maintain vehicle maintenance by performing checks of fluid levels, tires, lights, and other controls for safe operations. Keep vehicle in a clean and orderly condition Monitor various guages during operation of vehicle. Load and unload materials, up to approx 80 lbs, as necessary. Making sure loads are secure. Communicate effectively with Shop Manager and Superintendents regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Properly follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager. Other tasks as needed. Requirements Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A) is required. Two years of related tractor / trailer driving experience preferred. A commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic laws is essential for this role.
