In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while managing your own vehicle. You will have the flexibility to choose your routes and schedules while ensuring timely deliveries. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various types of cargo. Responsibilities Operate a commercial vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Transport goods using various types of trailers Load and unload cargo as required, utilizing forklift equipment when necessary. Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to meet customer expectations. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and mileage. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues that arise. Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to safety and operations. Skills Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License). Strong route driving skills with the ability to navigate efficiently. Experience as a delivery driver with a focus on customer service. Ability to load and unload cargo safely, including using forklift equipment. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries. Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate logs and records. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when necessary.
