Job Description

DRIVER- Shuttle Drivers needed to drive in Poughkeepsie, NY. This is a local, steady route, transporting college students and faculty members. We provide shuttle services for Marist University. This position is for a FT or PT driver to work Monday – Friday primarily days shifts starting at 7 am and run until 7 pm. Shifts will likely be 6:45am-11:15am and 11am-7:00pm, but will be determined at a later date. Drivers will also need to work additional hours at times with Charters and other OT work available around the area, including Windham Mountain and the Albany area. CDL drivers start at $25/hour. The vehicles are newer walk-on 25-passenger shuttles with wheelchair lifts that are cleaned and maintained regularly. Full-time help is eligible for Health/Dental insurance available after 90 days (50/50 split) and paid vacation after one year. Room for advancement! Must be over 20 years of age due to insurance requirements, customer service experience is a must! A valid license with a CDL with a passenger endorsement is required. A valid medical card is also required. Background checks, SORI checks, drug and driving tests will be conducted. Shuttle Driver- Job Description The job responsibilities of a Shuttle Driver may vary depending on the location where the employee is scheduled to work. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: + Greeting patrons in a polite manner and assisting them in any way we can + Safely shuttling customers to various destinations + Opening and closing doors for patrons + Adhering to all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest possible operation of our shuttles + Communicating effectively with customers and co-workers. This includes radio contact with management, shuttle drivers, and lot attendants + Completing required pre-trip inspections to meet federal as well as company safety requirements + Recording passenger counts and trip times + Completing necessary paperwork involved in daily operations + Assisting in equipment set up and break down (i.e. signs, cones, etc.) + Sweeping shuttles and removing debris to ensure cleanliness + Filling in as a lot attendant when needed + Communicating mechanical problems with shuttles to management + Complying with company procedures for shuttle operations + Operate wheelchair lift as needed, and secure chairs with tie-downs as needed Valet Park of America is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
