Our mission is to advance local and regional food-system resilience through market coordination, services for small food businesses, food-sovereignty initiatives, and collaborations that drive system-level change. We envision an abundant food system that empowers consumers and producers to make real choices that foster the well-being of communities, individuals, and the land. We make food access more equitable by connecting well over 100 small food producers with rural retailers and consumers who have varying ability to pay through an assortment of programs, including subsidized wholesale distribution; Food as Medicine, Farm-to-Food-Pantry, and Farm-to-Institution programs; a brick-and-mortar retail market; free home delivery for Adk Action Fair Food Program participants; trucking and logistics support for values-aligned food hubs and farming collectives; and much more.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As a backbone of our activities, you will collaborate with the fulfillment team and work under the direction of our Distribution Coordinator to perform the following abbreviated duties: Operate refrigerated, Sprinter-style and 16-foot box trucks to safely and efficiently deliver orders to wholesale and retail stakeholders. Pick up and confirm orders from farms and other food sources. Deliver food in the Adirondack and Capital regions along eight- to ten-hour routes. Maintain relationships and good communication with farmers, customers, and team members.
ABOUT YOU
You have a valid driver license and a clean driving record. You thrive in a dynamic environment and have excellent attention to detail. You can work physically demanding days that start early and may last 12+ hours. You can safely and repetitively lift 50 pounds. You can safely navigate cargo vehicles in mountain driving conditions in all seasons.
COMPENSATION
Hourly, non-exempt, 20-40 hours per week, year-round, starting as early as June 16, 2025.
Starting hourly rate:
$20-$23/hr, with room for growth after 90 days depending on performance and commitment.
