Distribution Supervisor, Job Summary:

The Distribution Associate- Driver is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and organizing materials for shipment, ensuring that all goods are handled according to company procedures and safety standards. This includes unloading trucks, properly staging materials-such as cold chain items and controlled substances-prior to inspection and maintaining the integrity of inbound and outbound freight by adhering to established shipping and receiving protocols. The role also involves operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely while ensuring materials are stored and shipped according to FEFO guidelines. As a delivery driver, the individual will safely operate delivery vehicles, conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, and follow designated routes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. The driver will maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any mechanical issues for timely repairs, while ensuring the safe transport of goods, including perishable or hazardous items. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety regulations, and efficient handling of both warehouse and delivery responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

Goods Received & Products Shipped (20%) Unloads trucks and properly places (cold chain, controlled substances and labeling) material in the warehouse so that material is staged for inspection.

Receives miscellaneous materials, both inventory and non-inventory.

Inspects all incoming and outbound freight and trailer conditions. Takes corrective action as required to ensure delivery of freight in acceptable condition by following Shipping and Receiving SOPs and documented Inspection procedures.

Locates, picks, & delivers materials from transfer orders for shipment in FEFO sequence.

Delivery Driver (80%)Operates delivery vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies. Conducts pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring that the vehicle is in proper working condition.

Uses GPS or mapping tools to navigate efficiently and adjust routes as needed based on road conditions or traffic.

Ensures deliveries are made within the designated time frame, maintaining punctuality and reliability. Keeps the delivery vehicle clean and organized, ensuring the vehicle is ready for operation at all times. Reports any maintenance or mechanical issues promptly to the supervisor for timely repairsAdheres to safety regulations, including the use of seat belts, safe driving practices, and handling of hazardous materials, if applicable. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma/GED requiredMust possess a valid New York State Class D Driver’s License CDL Class B may be required depending on the size of the vehicle operated for deliveries.

Requires basic education and training to understand and follow standard practice or oral instruction, use basic arithmetic, keep records, or use basic office equipment. Two years’ experience in a pharmaceutical industry preferred. Licensed operator of materials handling equipment preferred or the ability to obtain licenses/certification within the first 6-8 months on the job.
