out of 5 stars Fort Edward, NY Casella Construction is looking for Class A CDL Driver to join our transportation team in Ft. Edward, NY. At Casella Construction, we are proud of our team of drivers in our transportation group for completing millions of safe driving miles over the past year and maintaining an excellent DOT rating. We are looking for a safety-minded, positive self-starter Class A CDL Driver to add to our team of drivers out of Fort Edward, NY. In this position you will be hauling walking floor, haul end dump, and tipper trailers. This is a full-time position with competitive pay.
Responsibilities:
Operate a large commercial vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly. Keep a clean working environment Operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, box trucks, or other specified vehicles, in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring that it is properly secured to prevent damage during transit. Maintain accurate records of trips, including driver logs, mileage, and delivery receipts. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, including hours-of-service requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and supervisors to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues or delays. Follow company policies and procedures related to driver safety, performance, and conduct. Training requirements, both in person and online, as needed or required.
Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the appropriate class and endorsements Class A Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations. Knowledge of and adherence to all federal and state transportation regulations. Ability to operate and maintain commercial vehicles safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing paperwork and logs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with dispatchers, customers, and team members. Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy cargo as needed. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning software. Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules. Commitment to safety, both for oneself and others on the road. Experience with Live Bottom, Tipper Trailers, or Dump Trailers Preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods. Ability to safely bend, look under the truck/trailer, and climb steps into and out of the cab. Ability to enter the trailer via the man door or a ladder. Ability to lift hoses, open/close the hood, and shovel built-up rock or snow. Physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina. Ability to stand, walk, and climb inclines for the duration of the shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Job Specifics:
Eligible for quarterly bonus payments. Eligible for DOT Inspection bonus payments.
