Description Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable CDL-A Flatbed Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will have a valid CDL Class A license, flatbed experience, and a strong commitment to safety, timeliness, and professionalism. This role involves hauling a variety of cargo secured on a flatbed trailer, often requiring physical labor for loading and securing loads.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a Class A commercial vehicle with a flatbed trailer in a safe and efficient manner. Transport goods and materials to and from specified destinations in a timely manner. Load, secure, tarp, and unload flatbed cargo according to DOT regulations and company standards. Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues. Ensure compliance with all DOT and FMCSA regulations, including hours of service (HOS). Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs, trip reports, and delivery paperwork. Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and fellow drivers. Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A). Minimum 1 year of recent flatbed driving experience preferred. Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations. Knowledge of proper cargo securement and use of tie-downs, chains, and tarps. Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen. Willingness to travel long distances and work flexible hours, including weekends. Physical ability to climb onto trailers, lift heavy equipment, and perform securement tasks.
Preferred Skills:
experience operating loading equipment. Experience with over-dimensional or heavy haul loads. Strong knowledge of regional or national delivery routes.
Work Environment:
On the road for extended periods. Exposure to various weather conditions. Physically demanding tasks such as tarping, strapping, and climbing.
