Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a criticalrole in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers notonly make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destinationat the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the faceof our company

As a Shuttle Driver, you will play a vital role in the operation ofour business by transporting empty trailers to the OperatingCompany warehouse locations and turn around and deliver fulltrailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. The Shuttle Driverdrives a tandem trailer, tractor trailer and/or straight truck onintrastate and interstate routes for the purpose of transportingempty trailers to the Operating Company warehouse locations. Turnsaround and delivers full trailers with various products todomicile/shuttle yard locations in a safe and timely manner and inaccordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workersprofessionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in atimely manner. Functions as a team member within the department andorganization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to bestserve the company Position Responsibilities may include, but notlimited to:

  • Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/posttrip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer accordingto Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspectstractor/truck and trailer to insure they meet company safetystandards and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Reports allsafety issues and/or repairs required.
  • Follows all DOTregulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.

Immediately reports all safety hazards. Inspects trailer forproperly loaded and secured freight.

  • Ensures all required routepaperwork is with tractor trailer load and available to driver upondispatch.
  • Drives and delivers trailers according to predeterminedroute schedule.
  • Performs hook/unhook procedures per safetyguidelines.
  • Parks and stores tractor trailers in designatedareas.
  • Ensures all equipment and freight are appropriately lockedand/or always secured.
  • Collects and secures damaged goods andcustomer returns in empty trailer to bring back to driver check-inat base facility and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unloads allequipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Completes daily record of hours of service and enter in log inaccordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock areaand keep trailers clear and clean as required.
  • Performs otherrelated duties as assigned.
Qualification:
  • 12 months commercialdriving experience
  • High school diploma/GED or state approvedequivalent
  • Internal candidates must be in good standing
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (whereapplicable)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights (schedulesmay vary)
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able tosecure new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilizetwo-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stackproduct cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift;product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up tobetween approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the locationCompany description Performance Foodservice, PFG’s broadlinedistributor, maintains a unique relationship with a variety oflocal customers, including independent restaurants and hotels,healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries.
