Commercial Truck Driver (CDL A or CDL B)

Dean Construction LLC Smethport, PA Summary:

Perform safe, efficient truck driving duties and manual labor as needed. This is a non-exempt hourly position.

Duties Include:

• Wear personal protective equipment at all times
• Maintain safe and organized work area
• Operate trucks and/or truck tractors and trailers safely and efficiently in both on road and off road applications to deliver equipment and/or materials to various locations
• Properly care for and maintain company equipment
• Submitting to federal drug and alcohol testing requirements
• Working more than 40 hours per week as needed
• Working nights and weekends as needed
• Perform manual labor as needed
• Out of town travel may be required
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction

Knowledge of:

• State and federal regulations regarding vehicle weights and hours of service
• Local, state and federal traffic laws including load securement
• Heavy Trucks
• Basic operation of heavy equipment Ability to:
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Properly and neatly complete required paperwork
• Take and follow instructions
• Work under direct and indirect supervision
• Work with fuel and other petroleum products
• Lift and carry up to 75 pounds (For Class A Lowboy drivers)
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Push a force of 80 pounds
• Pull a force of 150 pounds
• Shift gears efficiently
• Climb on and off equipment safely
• Safely climb up the bed ladder on trucks
• Walk and work on uneven terrain
• Shovel and use other hand tools
• Work in a field environment and tolerate exposure to dust, exhaust fumes, hot/cold temperatures, extreme/inclement weather, vibrations, noise and compact spaces
• Put tire chains on trucks correctly

Qualifications:

• Valid commercial driver’s license for state in which you reside
• Valid Class B CDL for state in which you reside with acceptable driving record
• Prefer Class A CDL
• Tank and hazmat endorsements a plus
• Must obtain and maintain a current

Medical Examiner’s Certificate Education:

• High school graduate preferred

Experience:

• Prefer five years of verifiable experience as a CDL Driver
• Heavy Equipment Operating experience a plus

$20.00 – $25.00 per hour
