Emergency Sub Trolley Tour Driver The Encampment Store at Valley Forge King of Prussia, PA 19406 The Encampment Store operates trolley tours of Valley Forge National Historical Park March-December. We are seeking friendly, responsible drivers to convey visitors and a tour guide on our 38 passenger trolley. We are looking for substitute coverage to support our permanent driving team. Paid training is included (2 hours) and drivers will be notified of open shifts on a monthly basis or when an emergency shift opens up. This role will be providing coverage for vacation and emergency call-outs for our permanent team. Shifts are 10:15am-5:00pm, and we conduct weekend tours March through Memorial Day, 7-day tours Memorial Day through Labor Day, and weekend/holiday tours Labor Day through December. Retirees/school bus drivers seeking additional hours are encouraged to apply. We are looking for a driver to transport visitors in a comfortable, safe and timely manner. Driver responsibilities include picking up trolley prior to tour from separate area of the Park, conveying visitors and tour guide through Valley Forge, National Historical Park’s 10-mile driving route 3 times per shift, cleaning trolley before and after tours, and securely locking trolley up at the end of shift. Ultimately, you will support the guide in providing visitors a safe, enjoyable tour of the park. To be considered for this role, you should have a valid CDL with passenger endorsement and a clean driving record with no traffic violations. Responsibilities Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the best route with the guide that day Pick up visitors and guide from the front of our visitor center and safely transport them around our ten-mile driving route. Each tour is 90-minutes long, and close cooperation with the tour guide is needed to know when to pause/stop along the tour route. Assist guide with visitor counts Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed Assist visitors with limited mobility in and out of the trolley, including operating the wheelchair lift Ensure the car seats are clean and comfortable for all riders Clean trolley in between tours and prior to leaving for your shift (sweeping, trash removal, window cleaning, etc…) Skills Proven experience as a Driver, school bus driving experience a huge plus CDL license with a passenger endorsement required A clean driving record and background check Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50) Ability to assist visitors with limited mobility via our wheelchair lift Availability to take weekend shifts A polite and professional disposition Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations A high school diploma Shift Shift hours 10:15am-5:00pm
