Our company is the Food Service Contractor for the Philadelphia Department of Prisons. We run a 24/7 basis to provide meals to the Staff within the prison and incarcerated persons housed at each prison: C.F.C.F, RCF, D.C, and P.I.C.C., The starting Pay rate is $16.35 per hour. The hours for the schedules can start as early as 5 am or end your shift at 8 pm. Nights, Weekends and Holidays are required for all employees to work those days and times if scheduled. We will provide you with uniform shirts, you are responsible for work pants: Black or Dark Gray Cargo like pants (no jeans, jeggings, leggings, no more than 4 pockets. All clothes must be loose fitting nothing skin tight, this also includes uniform shirts), and Safety Shoes [slip resistant] All Black.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance and Valid Driver’s License, have your Background free of criminal history of any kind and No outstanding unpaid Fines, Taxes, Parking and Moving Violations etc.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary work environment, which conforms to all standards and regulations. Adhere to safety standards and accident reporting procedures.
• Drives company and/or State vehicle (Box Truck); transport food, supplies and other products, between Prisons and other authorized locations.
• Ensure accuracy of items delivered and received for delivery. Complete logs and forms as required.
• Load and unload food and non-food items on truck in a safe and orderly manner. Ensures timely and efficient meal service and OP-X guidelines are being met.
• May supervise and train inmates on loading procedures.
• Assists as utility person aiding in maintaining the kitchen in a safe, sanitary manner by removing trash, cleaning up spills or helping in storeroom with food storage.
• Follow and adhere to the correctional facility security policies. Ensures that all kitchen tools, keys and equipment are returned to their designated secure area.
• Maintain clean and orderly truck, dock and storage areas.
• Properly receives and store food and food related items. Requisitions supplies and equipment to maintain stock levels. Monitors stock levels.
• Report any truck maintenance issues to the Lead Supervisor and or Food Service director immediately. Maintain adequate levels of gasoline at all times.
• Follows Company’s policies and procedures for food handling and storage. (HAACP).
• Completes all required training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License at all times while employed.
• Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.
• Requires constant standing/walking All hourly employees are in a closed Union shop, Teamsters Local 830.

After the first thirty days of employment the Union initiation fee of $100 is deducted from your paycheck in 2 payments of $50, then the Union dues of $21 are deducted. All employees are on a 90 day probation period, during this time, attendance (absences, lateness, and early departures are strictly prohibited), along Job performance are monitored closely.
