Loads consist of multiple bundles of hardwood lumber and/or hardwood lumber that has been machined into various moldings. Shipments are always loaded on Conestoga trailers for delivery. Qualifications Previous experience in truck driving or other related fields Class A commercial driver’s license The ability to maneuver in areas, particularly in Northern regions, that may have heavy traffic Good interpersonal skills are a requirement, as truck drivers are representatives of our company as they are delivering to customers.

Responsibilities Loading:

The team members at our facility will load all trailers to ensure proper organization for your route’s deliveries and weight distribution. The driver will be required to make sure that straps are securely tightened prior to departure.

Unloading:

The driver will be responsible for unstrapping, and re-strapping (when needed) at each drop off location. Customers at each stop will unload their own material.

Documentation:

The driver will be responsible for maintaining proper log books via an ELD system, or through a phone application should the ELD system be temporarily unavailable.

Communication:

The driver will be responsible for communicating with our transportation and shipping manager, as well as with customers that are receiving deliveries. Route Details One route leaves our Donalds, SC location on Monday. This route’s final destination is a warehouse facility in Croydon, PA. There are generally 5-7 stops at business locations on this route, with a final drop off of all remaining materials at the Croydon, PA warehouse. The driver will then return to our Donalds, SC facility with an expected return day of Wednesday. On Thursdays and Fridays, the driver will be sent on shorter truck routes to locations such as Charlotte, Charleston, or Atlanta. The goal is to always have the driver for these routes home at a reasonable time on Friday, and allow them to have each weekend off from work.

Equipment:

Our trucks are low-mileage, newer models with regular service provided Sleeper cabs are available on all equipment Conestoga style trailers are used, with built-in straps for securing loads Currently in the process of installing new ELD systems in all of our trucks, with new GPS units, and forward-facing dash cams Pay Details Pay starts out at $0.60 per mile, and increases based upon experience Pay also includes a pay for each delivery location, starting at $14 per stop Benefits packages become available once an employee has been established with our company for 60 days.
