Job Summary:

Dorchester Seniors, Inc. is seeking a dependable and dedicated Custodian/Driver to support our senior centers by maintaining a clean, safe facility and providing reliable transportation and meal delivery services to seniors across Dorchester County. This full-time, dual-role position is vital to ensuring a healthy, welcoming environment for our participants and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Custodial Duties:

Clean floors, hallways, bathrooms, and common areas Sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and high-touch surfaces Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and remove trash Restock supplies and notify supervisor when low Operate industrial cleaning equipment Follow all chemical safety procedures (MSDS)

Driving Duties:

Transport seniors to and from centers and outings Deliver home-delivered meals on designated routes Assist seniors in and out of vehicles (including wheelchair lifts) Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform safety checks Report maintenance or mechanical issues Use GPS and route sheets for efficient navigation

Additional Duties:

Attend required trainings and meetings Assist with kitchen tasks and center events as needed Support emergency/disaster responses when applicable Follow all DSI policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred Custodial and/or commercial driving experience preferred Strong communication and time management skills Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Valid SC driver’s license with no more than 6 points Comfortable driving 15-passenger vans/buses Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and drive for extended periods

Work Environment:
