Job Summary:

The Lowboy Driver is responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment—including excavators, bulldozers, grinders, and other land clearing machinery—to and from job sites using a lowboy trailer. This role supports field operations by ensuring timely and compliant delivery and pick-up of equipment across various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment using a lowboy trailer
• Inspect and maintain truck, trailer, and tie-down equipment for safe operation
• Ensure equipment is properly secured according to DOT and company safety standards
• Communicate with dispatchers, supervisors, and equipment operators regarding job site needs and schedules
• Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and required delivery documentation
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any mechanical issues
• Assist in setup or breakdown of land clearing equipment as needed on job sites
• Follow all DOT regulations and safety protocols at all times
• Perform minor repairs or adjustments to load securement gear as needed
• Represent the company professionally at all times while interacting with clients and crew

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
• Minimum 2 years experience hauling heavy equipment with a lowboy or similar trailer
• Knowledge of DOT safety regulations and heavy haul requirements
• Ability to operate winches, chains, binders, and other tie-down equipment
• Physical ability to climb onto equipment, secure loads, and perform manual labor
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus

Working Conditions:

• Outdoor field work, year-round
• Travel required to job sites throughout service areas (local and regional)
• Occasional overtime or weekend work based on project needs

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs regularly
• Climbing, kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Comfort working around heavy machinery and in rugged terrain

Full-time Pay:

$27.00 – $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
