POSITION TITLE:
Wellness Center Assistant/Driver-Floater
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Director of Community Based Services, serves as congregate meal site assistant and assists in the daily operation of congregate meal sites. Serves as back-up wellness center driver when needed. Provides office assistance and support to the Director of Community Based Services.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Wellness Center Assistant:
1. Responsible for managing the wellness center and/or congregate meal distribution site by supervising site employees and volunteers to ensure safe and efficient operation of the center, in the absence of the Center Manager or Meal Site Manager. 2. Assists with coordinating the daily opening and closing of the site. 3. Assist with compiling daily meal count and maintaining daily reports, including but not limited to: food temperatures, reservation sheets, log sheets, food reports, meal summary sheets, volunteer sheets, mileage and time sheets. 4. Assists with proper storage of meal and center supplies.
Back-up Driver:
5. Responsible for transporting and escorting clients safely to and from wellness centers. 6. Responsible for completing service logs on vehicles, transportation routes and routine maintenance of van. 7. Obey all safe driving rules and regulations and report all vehicular accidents. 8. Ensuring and monitoring that vehicle is in safe driving condition and all riders are obeying safe riding habits. 9. Report all participant incidents, accidents or concerns to the center manager and central office within 24 hours. 10. Performs other duties and tasks as required by the Director of Community Based Services, or as required to fulfill the mission of the organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent, required. At least 1 to 3 years of related experience, required. Previous experience working with older adults, preferred. Possession of a valid South Carolina motor vehicle operator license and clear driving record. Strong organization, communication, and customer service skills, required. Computer skills including Microsoft Office, preferred. Ability to work independently to achieve team goals.
