Job Description:

$20.35 Starting base pay rate.

Position Purpose:

All drivers rundaily routes with frequent stops and are required to load packagesonto hand trucks and unload product at each stop on the assignedroute in the order they are designated by the TransportationDepartment Manager. Candidate will operate successfully in a crossdock model picking up loaded truck from a nightly delivery at f theassigned loading dock and returning the empty truck back to theassigned lot at the end of the route. May be required to assistoccasionally with loading trucks, palletizing product, andperforming other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

Runs routes efficiently, meeting orexceeding designated route times

• Unload product from trailer, byhand or using hand cart, and place in designated customer storageareas. May include transporting product down ramps, stairs, ordocks, in all weather conditions.
• Frequently lift, push, or moveproduct that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds; frequently reachup to 72″ to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart; constantlybend and twist while loading and unloading product, and retrievingitems from trailer.

Verify delivery of items with customer andobtain proper signatures. Contact management for authorization whendiscrepancies on invoice and communicate all errors/returns. Callsin when customer does not receive their entire order (shorts)Handles any customer complaints professionally Handles companyequipment properly, follows written driver safety rules, andperforms pre-trip inspection. Perform pre-trip and post-tripresponsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation(DOT) regulations and Sysco policies and procedures

Education:

• High School or GED or equivalent

Experience:

• One year routedelivery experience or applicable background driving a straighttruck
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to read and speak theEnglish language sufficiently to converse with the general public,to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the Englishlanguage, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries onreports and records.
