Propane Delivery Driver & Tanksetter Greater Dickson Gas Authority Dickson, TN 37055 POSITION

OVERVIEW

The Propane Delivery Driver and Tanksetter delivers Propane to customers; reads propane/natural meters; completing and pricing delivery tickets from route book; operates tank truck – setting propane tanks; installs piping and regulator systems; services appliances; instructs customer on operating appliances and trouble-shoots problems on natural/propane gas appliances installed in GDGA’s customer homes or business; may perform construction and customer installations as needed; participation in special projects as assigned; and performing related service duties requiring a high degree of skill and experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
• Must possess a Class B or greater Commercial Tennessee Driver’s License for a minimum of one (1) year and must have a state of Tennessee issued Commercial Driver’s License within ninety (90) days after hire
• Ability to acquire Hazardous and Tanker endorsements within ninety (90) days after hire
• Must have a valid health card or ability to get one within ninety (90) days after hire
• Technology aptitude (computer/tablet/iPad/smartphone, etc.)
• The ability to communicate verbally person to person
• The ability to read and understand printed material
• The ability to make decisions under pressure

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

• Have demonstrated knowledge of the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration as outlined in part 391 of the regulation
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Must be capable of meshing with their peers in the work place and work together when required
• Must be capable of communicating his/her thoughts in a proper manner and display a congenial attitude in accepting assignments
• Must work safety and follow all safety policies and procedures
• Must work efficiently with little supervision
• There will be time of greater workload, and it will be essential to remain calm and organized at all times
• Promote a teamwork environment; assist co-workers as needed
