Job Summary:
Operates a Company vehicle to deliver product to customers. Manually loads and unloads delivery truck, verifies parts loaded and unloaded, collects payments from customers, obtains signatures from receiving locations confirming accuracy of parts unloaded/loaded and delivers returned items back to the branch.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Drives a Company vehicle in a safe, courteous and responsible manner avoiding traffic violations and accidents. 2. Physically loads Company truck and verifies the condition of the truck, the manifest and other paperwork associated with the deliveries to be made. 3. Drives to the delivery destination and physically unloads the truck, verifies orders, obtains signature of receiving location confirming the accuracy of inventory shown on the order and that received by the customer. 4. Makes proper notations on the manifest and provides receipts on inventory or orders being returned from customers. 5. Collect’s payments for orders, as necessary. 6. Works in such a manner as to prevent shortages and damage to products. 7. Complies with established Company policies and procedures. 8.
COMPARING CUSTOMER’S SALES ORDER WITH PRODUCT ON THE COMPLETED ORDER 9. COMMUNICATING WITH THE ORDER PULLER TO CORRECT THE ERROR 10. INVESTIGATING INVENTORY SHORTAGES OR DISCREPENCIES TO VERIFY LACK OF INVENTORY 11. CHECKING FOR PROPER PRODUCT SUBSTITUTIONS WHEN NEEDED 12. WORKING DIRECTLY WITH SALES STAFF, OFFICE STAFF, DRIVERS, OTHER WAREHOUSE EMPLOYEES, AND WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT TO PREPARE AND ASSURE THE ACCURACY OF THE DAILY ORDERS FOR SHIPPING BY VERIFYING PULLED ORDERS, PALLETIZING, ROUTING ORDERS AND WRAPPING PALLETS WHEN NECESSARY FOR THE NEXT DELIVERY DAY
