Materials Handling – Line Driver Position Available In Sullivan, Tennessee

BAE Systems, one of the world’s leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is seeking detailed oriented and highly motivated individuals to fill the role of Line Driver in the Materials Handling Department at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport, TN. We have multiple positions available. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to transporting material via trailer throughout the plant, performing daily inspections of vehicle (Tractor-Trailer), keeping up with paperwork associated with job, and communicating with other departments.

Physical Demands include climbing in and out of truck at least 25 times per shift. Potential to handle up to 60 lbs. boxes.

Visual Demands:

Keeping track of pulls that need to be made, remaining calm if you fall behind, keeping eyes on task at hand.

Working Conditions:

Job requires you to be outside while hooking and unhooking trailers.

Special Notes:

This job requires the ability to be able to back a trailer into some tight areas. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Required education: High School/GED1 year experience in shipping/receiving/material handler/forklift experience and knowledge of basic understanding of truck/trailer and fork truck operations – loading dock experience, warehouse; please detail experience in your application / resume.

Pay rate is $18 an hour, if you have a CDL Class A pay is $19.50 an hour Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shiftsMUST have and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Previous experience in working on shipping docksExperience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Class A, CDL is highly preferred but not required

Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range:

$28523 – $45637Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
