Purpose of the position:

This position covers a 273-mile area of territory from Myrtlewood, AL to Vicksuburg, MS with 75% field travel and very limited overnight travel. As a Roadmaster you will directly provide and ensure oversight and compliance with corporate policy and regulatory engineering standards. Provide leadership accountability for input/output of safety, service, productivity and financial metrics. Ensures the application of CPKC safety practices, policies and procedures by all direct union reports.

Position accountabilities:

Directs, coordinates, and/or implements emergency response to service interruptions and implement seasonal plansLeads Union employees within the terms of the Collective Agreement and assists in handling corrective actions, disputes and grievancesAccountable for current year execution and provides information, recommendations, and validation for scope of work documents, annual/multi-year capital planning prioritiesProvide oversight of engineering materials and accurate inventoryEnsure CPKC is aligned with all FRA regulatory processesPosition requirements:5 years’ experience in track maintenance & renewal2 years’ experience leading Track Renewal crews such as Rail Tie crewsComplete understanding of Railway Track Safety RulesKnowledge and full comprehension of Collective Agreement languagePeople leadershipOn-call rotation (likely every other week) and may be required to respond to incidents on other territories
