Field Technician – District 1 Job Description The role involves conducting visual inspections of roadway conditions within the assigned district. You will utilize a tablet to document findings such as drainage issues, overgrowth of vegetation, damaged signs, guardrails or fencing, and faded roadway markings. Reports need to be submitted in real time while on the move. Adherence to company and Department of Transportation (DOT) safety standards is mandatory. Responsibilities + Conduct visual inspections of roadway conditions in assigned district. + Use a tablet to document issues such as drainage problems, overgrown vegetation, damaged signs, and faded markings. + Submit inspection reports in real time. + Plan weekly inspections in coordination with City/County Inspector. + Ensure compliance with safety standards set by the company and DOT. Essential Skills + Experience with roadway inspections, field service/inspection, field reporting and field documentation. + Ability to work outdoors and independently. + Strong work ethic and self-motivation. + Capability to collaborate effectively with partners. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in utility locating and engineering inspections. + Willingness to learn and take direction. + Proven ability to work alone, as verified by references. Work Environment The position is field-based, with work conducted entirely from a company-provided vehicle. The role requires travel within the assigned district, with no overnight stays. The company provides all necessary equipment, including boot vouchers, heavy-duty jackets, reflective shirts, and anti-sun gear. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 – $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
