Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Dispatch Coordinator to join our growing Jacksonville team. This role will be pivotal in managing daily dispatch operations, coordinating with port terminals, and ensuring timely pickups and deliveries of containerized cargo.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule, assign, and dispatch drivers for local container moves from the Port of Jacksonville Monitor driver progress throughout the day to ensure on-time performance and compliance Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, and port personnel Track container availability, port cutoffs, and ensure timely returns to avoid per diem and demurrage Manage and maintain up-to-date dispatch software, logs, and driver records Coordinate chassis availability and work closely with port terminals Provide support in resolving service issues or delays as they arise
Requirements:
Prior dispatch experience in port drayage or intermodal trucking (preferred) Strong knowledge of port operations and terminology (e.g., steamship lines, container numbers, chassis, etc.) Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Familiarity with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) is a plus Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
