Responsibilities include the following:
Develop a strong understanding of FCC non-commercial policies and assist in flagging any content that may compromise non-commercial rules. Develop a fluid understanding of the equipment we use daily, the purpose of each component, and how it connects together to create a working system.
This includes:
Crispin Automation, Vantage Transcoding, FTP, & basic transmitter functionality. Continuously monitor the automation system to ensure uninterrupted transmission according to Traffic Department logs. Properly name, transfer, & prepare files on the playback server for broadcast. Conduct routine program and spot checks to ensure on-air quality and continuity of assets prior to broadcast. Promptly respond to emails and phone calls. Effectively troubleshoot and report technical issues to supervisor and/or engineering staff. Monitor transmitters (taking periodic readings) for FCC compliance Monitor Closed Captioning & report non-compliant programs or viewer comments Follow EAS policies and reporting procedures Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be local and willing to commute to our facilities in Lake Mary to work. A flexible schedule to work other overnight shifts (vacations, holidays, etc..) as arranged. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. 18 years or older and fluent in English. Must have operational knowledge of computers & email (Gmail/G Suite). Prior experience (professional or volunteer) is a plus but not required.
