The Scale Operator at Howlett Farms plays a vital role in our Operations Team. The Truck Scale Operator is responsible for working directly with customers and weighing inbound and outbound trucks using the Merchant Ag Scale Interface Software. Key responsibilities include entering truck data, providing exceptional customer service, solving problems on the spot, and maintaining an organized workspace. Ideal candidates are punctual, detail-oriented, skilled in computer use, and able to think on their feet. This fast-paced role requires flexibility, with overtime and weekend hours as needed to meet customer demand.

Essential Functions:

Input truck and commodity information into the Merchant Ag Scale software. Communicate on the radio with truck drivers and staff. Work independently in a fast-paced environment. Provide excellent customer service and remain calm and accommodating in times of heavy workloads and maintain relationships with customers. Ability to remember and maintain a rapport with returning customers. Maintain an organized workspace and file tickets appropriately. Communicate with the operations team to solve logistical and technical problems. Communicate with sales office to correctly input tickets. Ability to run VOM tests daily using the Envirologix Quick Scan.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Punctual and reliable with consistent attendance. Detail oriented and ability to follow step-by-step processes quickly and efficiently. Proficient in computer skills, typing and learning new software (training is provided). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to quickly diagnose and solve problems independently. Ability and willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Physical demands:

Able to sit or stand at the computer station for extended periods of time. Able to perform repetitive tasks and quickly move around the office. Able to climb grain bins for daily inventory.

Pay:

$20.00 per hour Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate over 40 hours worked/week Expected hours and schedule: Monday
