BUS WASHER Position Available In Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Job Summary:

A bus washer is a person who, generally under the supervision of the shop supervisor, cleans the inside and outside of the buses and vans used for transporting school pupils, or clients to and from school or locations. Work is performed according to established routines and procedures. Assignments require the ability to learn manual tasks rather than prior experience. Once experience is gained, work is performed independently. Work performance is reviewed by inspection of the assigned work.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Cleans the exterior and interior of transit vehicles using hand and power equipment Checks exterior for evidence of damage and reports damage Checks interior for vandalism and conditions which would injure passengers or their clothing and reports damage or repairs damage as applicable Attend work on a regular and dependable basis Interacts in a professional and respectful manner with staff and the public All other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities-Essential Functions:

Ability to use necessary cleaning equipment and tools properly Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers Possession of a valid driver’s license While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in outside weather conditions and be exposed to heat, cold, wet and/or humid weather conditions The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud Attend work on a regular and dependable basis Ability to successfully pass state and/or federal required Background Checks Ability to perform the essential functions of the job Ability to comply with all policies and procedures established by company

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent Must be 18 years or older Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history Physical Requirements with

Climbing-Regularly-Getting on and off the vehicle. Walking-Regularly-Walking to vehicle in parking lots, walking in aisles on board bus, walking around vehicle for cleaning. Pushing/Pulling-Regularly-Closing door, opening emergency door and equipment opening and closing windows. Reaching-Regularly-Reaching to perform cleaning duties in, on, and around bus. Repetitive Motions-Regularly-Washing bus. Sitting-Regularly-Drive buses through the yard. Talking-Regularly-Speaking with staff and supervisor. Seeing-Regularly-Keeping aware of general traffic and parking lot conditions. Hearing-Regularly-Listening to sounds in the parking lot. Stooping/ Stretching-Regularly-Cleaning and inspecting under the bus. Standing-Regularly-Standing upright to wash the bus.
