The desired candidate is someone who is 25 years of age or older for insurance purposes. You will be responsible for breaking teachers during lunch time and caring for children 5 to 12 years of age between 2:45pm until 6:00p.m. You will be required to transport children from school to the Center. (We provide service to Shreve Island Elementary, Riverside Elementary, Magnolia Elementary, and AC Steere Elementary.) You must have a good driving record and have great love and patience for children. He/she will work with another After-School Teacher to ensure each child’s needs are met. The ideal candidate will be a caring individual who enjoys playing games and facilitating fun activities. You must have a GED or H.S. Diploma. Responsibilities Provide a safe and loving environment for the children in his/her care Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times Provide fun and engaging activities for After-School students Attend Field Trips (Summer Months) Track children’s progress and report to parents Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche Collaborate with other educators Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Skills Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms Excellent communication and instructional skills Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
