https://apply.interfolio.com/190318 Bard College seeks a full-time Office Assistant for a busy Human Resources office. Duties include but are not limited to: answering phones, greeting walk-ins, answering general questions related to the Human Resources department, assisting with creating and maintaining employee files, and providing general office support for the department. This is a full-time, non-exempt, 12 month per year position reporting to the Director of Human Resources. The successful candidate will excel at working in a community that is broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation and religion.
About Bard:
Bard College's main campus is in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y., with 1,900 undergraduate students; the College also includes multiple graduate programs. The 1,000-acre campus sits along the Hudson River and offers the Fisher Performing Arts Center, and Hessel Museum of Art, and is the home of the Bard Prison Initiative, the largest college-degree-granting prison education program in the U.S. The Bard Network also includes several Bard High School Early Colleges across the country as well as international campuses and partnerships. Essential Duties:
Assign and process new employee onboarding Support new employees in completing onboarding Assist in creating and maintaining employee files Complete employment verifications Track completion of online trainings Maintain record retention/destruction log Monitor Human Resources email account by responding to and delegating messages appropriately Answer phone calls in a professional manner Greet all visitors to the department and direct them to the appropriate staff member Use independent discretion in all communication Assist department personnel as needed Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Associate degree required, Bachelor degree preferred Two years' experience in an office setting Ability to use discretion with confidential matters Proficiency with Google Suite and MS Office Ability to learn new platforms and software Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and remain focused through interruptions Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong customer service skills Demonstrated commitment to providing a welcoming environment for all employees

Compensation:
$27/hour This salary range reflects the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
