Veterinary Assistant | Lynchburg, Virginia You start the morning restocking exam rooms before the first appointment walks in, help hold a wiggly puppy still for its vaccines, run a quick blood panel between visits, and by early afternoon you're walking a longtime client through her senior cat's new treatment plan, the kind of client whose family has trusted Country Squire Animal Hospital for decades. That's a day as a Veterinary Assistant at Country Squire. About the Practice Country Squire Animal Hospital has served the Oregon, Ohio community since 1985, and the team brings over 90 years of combined veterinary experience to the care they provide. The hospital offers routine soft-tissue surgery, x-ray, ultrasound, and lab services, all delivered by a team that's built lasting relationships with pets and their people over 40 years. What You'll Help Make Possible Smooth, efficient appointments that keep patients calm and clients informed Accurate diagnostics and lab work that give the veterinary team what they need to make the right call A hospital that keeps running the way this community has come to expect after decades of consistent care Pet parents who leave every visit feeling heard and confident in their pet's treatment plan
What We're Looking For Required:
1-2 years of experience in a veterinary setting Comfortable assisting with exams, procedures, and daily patient care Strong communication skills with clients and teammates
Preferred:
Experience with lab testing, diagnostics, or surgical support Comfortable in a hospital with a longstanding, established client base Schedule Full-time, Day shift Four full days per week (8 or 9 hours depending on the day), with a set day off No weekends Holidays included in the team rotation Compensation Compensation for this role starts $16.00/hour. Final compensation based on experience and role alignment.
