Full-Time Position Summary The Fixed Wireless Network Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of fixed wireless broadband equipment at customer locations and network infrastructure sites. This position requires hands-on experience with Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), rooftop and pole-mounted wireless systems, network equipment, cabling, and inventory management. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, climbing ladders and working from elevated structures, using power tools, operating service vehicles, interacting with customers, and supporting warehouse operations. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCustomer Installations Install fixed wireless internet service at residential and commercial customer locations. Mount and align wireless CPE equipment on rooftops, eaves, masts, poles, and other structures. Install and secure mounting hardware, brackets, grounding systems, and cable pathways. Run and terminate Ethernet cabling from outdoor radios to customer networking equipment. Configure customer network devices, routers, switches, and wireless access points. Verify signal strength, throughput, latency, and service quality. Educate customers on equipment operation and service expectations. Document completed installations with photographs and work reports. Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on wireless network infrastructure.
Troubleshoot:
Wireless radios Access points Routers Switches Power systems Customer connectivity issues Diagnose RF interference, signal degradation, and network performance problems. Replace defective network equipment and restore service outages. Assist Network Engineers with network upgrades and expansions. Conduct equipment firmware upgrades and configuration changes. Participate in emergency outage restoration activities. Pole and Infrastructure Work Install and maintain equipment on: Utility poles Private poles Towers Rooftops Elevated structures
Install:
Subscriber radios Sector antennas Point-to-point backhaul equipment Grounding and surge protection systems Maintain proper cable management and equipment labeling. Follow all safety requirements for climbing, fall protection, and electrical awareness. Perform visual inspections of network assets and structures. Warehouse and Inventory Operations Receive, inspect, and organize incoming equipment and materials.
Maintain inventory of:
Radios Antennas Routers Switches Mounting hardware Ethernet cable Network supplies Prepare technician installation kits. Track equipment assigned to projects and technicians. Assist with inventory counts and asset audits. Stage equipment for upcoming customer installations and network deployments. Manage return merchandise authorizations (RMA) and defective equipment processing. Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization. Service and Maintenance Activities Respond to customer trouble tickets and service outages. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities. Conduct signal surveys and line-of-sight evaluations. Test and verify network performance using diagnostic tools. Maintain detailed records of repairs, equipment replacements, and site conditions. Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are maintained in safe working condition. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass background and drug screening requirements.
Basic understanding of:
TCP/IP networking Ethernet cabling Wireless networking fundamentals Router configuration Experience using hand and power tools. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to work at heights and on ladders. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience in: Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) Wireless ISP (WISP) operations Telecommunications Broadband installation Wireless network maintenance Experience with: Cambium Networks Ubiquiti Mikrotik Mimosa Tarana Wireless Calix Siklu Tower climbing or elevated work experience. Knowledge of RF fundamentals and wireless propagation. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. First Aid / CPR certification. Bucket truck experience. Fiber and Ethernet installation experience.
