General Terms and Conditions 

By applying for a Tallo scholarship, you agree to these terms: 

  • Unless noted otherwise, you must be a U.S. resident to be considered for any Tallo scholarship award. 
  • Must be enrolled in or accepted to a Title IV-eligible technical college, community college, 4-year program, apprenticeship, or certification program at an accredited institution. If not yet enrolled, funds will be distributed upon proof of enrollment, no later than 2029.  
  • You may apply for more than one scholarship, and you only need to complete one profile to do so. Entering additional profiles will not increase your chances of being selected. 
  • Tallo reserves the right to change the scholarship offerings at any time, including available scholarships, deadlines, requirements, award amounts or other program details. 
  • The Tallo Privacy Policyapplies to all Tallo scholarships. 
  • Scholarship winners will be contacted by email within three weeks of the scholarship application deadlines and may also be contacted by phone. 
  • If winners do not reply by the date specified in the email, Tallo reserves the right not to award the scholarship to the winner, and to award the scholarship to another applicant or to redistribute the scholarship award dollars to another scholarship.

Tallo’s $1000 Career Exploration Scholarship Rules 

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. 

BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES, EACH PARTICIPANT REPRESENTS AND WARRANTS THAT HE OR SHE MEETS THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS DETAILED IN THESE RULES. FAILURE TO MEET ALL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. ENTRY CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE RULES. ALL ENTRIES BECOME THE PROPERTY OF TALLO AND ITS AFFILIATES (THE “SPONSOR”) AND WILL NOT BE RETURNED OR ACKNOWLEDGED. THE SPONSOR’S DECISIONS ARE FINAL AND BINDING ON ALL MATTERS. 

This sweepstakes begins at 12:00 PM PST on November 18, 2024 and ends at 11:59 PM PST on December 3, 2024. 

1. ELIGIBILITY: Open to all residents of the United States who (i) are age 13 or older, (ii) enrolled in or accepted to a Title IV-eligible technical college, community college, 4-year program, apprenticeship, or certification program at an accredited institution (If not yet enrolled, funds will be distributed upon proof of enrollment, no later than 2029), (iii) sign up for a Tallo profile, (iiii) and complete the Career Navigator assessment. If you are a parent or legal guardian of an entrant under the age of 18, by allowing your child to register for these Sweepstakes, you are subject to these Rules. Entrants under the age of majority in their state of residence (“Minors”) must have permission to enter from their parent or legal guardian and will be required to obtain a written release from their parent or legal guardian prior to claiming any prize. Proof of permission may be required at any time. Online entries will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. 

2. SPONSOR: Stride, Inc., 11720 Plaza America Dr., 9th Floor, Reston, VA, 20190. 

3. HOW TO ENTER: Entrants may enter the Sweepstakes by (i) completing the sign-up for a Tallo profile using the link on the page to which these Rules were linked, and (ii) completing the Career Navigation Assessment once signed in. Individuals who complete the foregoing steps and meet all other eligibility requirements contained in these Rules will be automatically entered for a chance to win the Sweepstakes. By submitting an Entry, entrant agrees to abide by these Official Rules and the Tallo Privacy Policy. Any Entry that does not comply with these Official Rules will be disqualified. 

To enter without visiting the Tallo website and completing one or more of the activities listed above, Eligible Students may call the (855) 765-7836 toll-free number to request an alternate entry form. The form will be mailed upon request to the Eligible Student. A completed form should be mailed back to the Tallo, Attn: Tallo, 11720 Plaza America Dr. 9th floor, Reston, Virginia 20190 with the requested information including: full name, mailing address, email address, birthdate, and the scholarship type and drawing month when mail-in entry should be applied. Limit one (1) entry per stamped outer envelope. P.O. Boxes are not permitted. Also, an individual is limited to one (1) entry per Scholarship. Entries received from any person in excess of these limitations shall be void. Automated or bulk entries or entries submitted by third parties may be disqualified. Entries must be submitted by the Eligible Student. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple and/or different identities, forms, registrations, email addresses, logins, or any other methods will disqualify that participant’s entries, and that participant may be disqualified from the Program. 

4. RANDOM DRAWING SELECTION: One (1) winner will be selected via random drawing as soon as practicable after the deadline of December 3, 2024, among all Entries received and processed during the time period (“Winner”), November 18, 2024 thru December 3, 2024. If a Winner is disqualified for any reason, an alternate Winner will be selected through additional random drawings as many times as necessary. The Sponsor’s decision is final in all matters related to this Sweepstakes. The odds of winning will be determined by the number of entrants into the Sweepstakes. 

5. PRIZES: The Winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship (“Scholarship Prize”).  ALL EXPENSES, FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL TAXES AND COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ACCEPTANCE AND USE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP PRIZE NOT SET FORTH IN THESE RULES ARE THE OBLIGATION OF THE WINNER. The awarding of any Scholarship Prize is contingent upon full compliance with these Official Rules and subject to Sponsor’s verification of Applicant and Applicant’s submission. Applicants agree to be bound by Official Rules and agree that if any Winner is found to have violated the Official Rules or otherwise does not meet eligibility criteria, Scholarship Prize will be forfeited and an alternate Winner will be selected. Applicants understand that Sponsor is not liable for injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising from participation in this Scholarship Program and acceptance, possession and use of Scholarship Prize. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Scholarship Program or in the announcement of the Scholarship Prize. Winners may not transfer or assign any Scholarship Prize and any attempt to do so is void. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value, in its sole discretion. 

6. WINNER NOTIFICATION: Winner/Winners will be notified by email no more than three weeks after the last day of the entry period (December 3, 2024) to claim their prize. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. No substitutions are permitted except Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or portion of any prize with one of equal or greater value in case of unavailability.  

7. DISBURSEMENT: Scholarship funds will be sent directly to a student selected to receive scholarship funds (“Winner”) in the form of one or more checks payable to a Title IV eligible institution (“Institution”) indicated by the Winner. Winner must indicate the Institution to Sponsor at least 60 calendar days before the beginning of their first semester (no later than 2029) at the Institution as indicated by Institution. Sponsor will never disburse scholarship funds or monies directly to Winner; it will disburse scholarship funds only to Institutions. In cases where, prior to full disbursement, a Winner (i) changes or transfers to a new Institution, (ii) defers enrollment, or (iii) ceases attending or leave the Institution for any reason, the Winner shall promptly notify Sponsor of such change in their enrollment at the Institution, which shall be no later than five (5) business days after such change has been notified to the applicable Institution. Upon receipt of notification, in case of (i), Sponsor shall disburse any remaining scholarship funds to the new Institution provided it is a Title IV eligible institution; and in case of (ii) and (iii), Winner shall have until 2029 to notify Sponsor of their enrollment at a new Title IV eligible Institution (together with a reasonable proof of such enrollment and, in the case of a military or religious-related deferral or leave, documentation of the applicable military or religious service) or the Winner will forfeit the remainder of the scholarship. Furthermore, even if a Winner enrolls in a Title IV eligible Institution earlier than their cohort, the scholarship funds will be disbursed to the applicable Institution at the same time as the rest of the cohort. The scholarship funds shall be for undergraduate studies only.  Sponsor may use a third party vendor, such as Scholarship America, for the disbursement and associated administrative support. 

8. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: Winners acknowledge that the Sponsor and all other businesses concerned with this, and their agents do not make, nor are in any manner responsible for any warranty, representations, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the quality, condition, fitness or merchantability of any aspect of any prize. Each winner will be responsible for all federal, state, local, and income taxes associated with winning his/her prize. Except where prohibited by law, entry and acceptance of prize constitute permission for Sponsor and its agents to use each winner’s name, entries, prize won, hometown, likeness, and video for purposes of advertising, trade, promotion and publicity (including online posting) in any and all media now or hereafter known throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification or permission. Entrants (i) agree to these rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, on their behalf, and on behalf of their respective heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, successors and assigns (“Releasing Parties”); (ii) release, defend and hold harmless the Sponsor as well as their employees, officers, directors and agents (“Released Parties”), from any and all actions, causes of action, suits, debts, dues, indirect or direct damages, consequential damages, incidental damages, punitive or exemplary damages, claims and demands whatsoever, in law or equity, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, against Released Parties which any one or more of the Releasing Parties ever had, now have or hereafter may have which in any way arise out of or result from entrant’s participation, acceptance or use or misuse of any prize. Entrants assume all liability for any injury, including death or damage caused or claimed to be caused, by participation in this event or use or redemption of any prize. 

This event shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, U.S.A. without regard to its conflicts of laws provisions. Entrants hereby agree that any and all disputes, claims, causes of action, or controversies (“Claims”) arising out of or in connection with this shall be resolved by final and binding arbitration pursuant to this provision and the code of procedures of either the National Arbitration Forum (“NAF”) or the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”), as selected by the entrant. NEITHER PARTY HAS THE RIGHT TO LITIGATE A CLAIM IN COURT OR HAVE A JURY TRIAL ON A CLAIM. FURTHER, NEITHER SPONSOR NOR ENTRANT HAS THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A REPRESENTATIVE CAPACITY ON BEHALF OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC OR OTHER PERSONS SIMILARLY SITUATED, OR AS A MEMBER OF ANY CLASS OF CLAIMANTS PERTAINING TO ANY CLAIM SUBJECT TO ARBITRATION. OTHER RIGHTS THAT ENTRANT WOULD HAVE IF ENTRANT WENT TO COURT ALSO MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE IN ARBITRATION. The arbitrator’s authority to resolve Claims is limited to Claims between Sponsor and entrant alone, and the arbitrator’s authority to make awards is limited to awards to Sponsor and entrant alone. Furthermore, Claims brought by either party against the other may not be joined or consolidated in arbitration with Claims brought by or against any third party, unless agreed to in writing by all parties. No arbitration award or decision will have any preclusive effect as to issues or claims in any dispute with anyone who is not a named party to the arbitration. 

Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of this event or in the announcement of any prize. 

This sweepstakes is void where prohibited by law. 

9. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY FOR WEB ACCESS: The Sponsor is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Website users, or tampering or hacking, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this and assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to the Website. The Sponsor is not responsible for injury or damage to an entrant’s or to any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in this or downloading and/or uploading materials from or use of the Website. 

Mass entries, multiple entries or entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices are void. Entries made with multiple email addresses, under multiple identities or through the use of any automated other device or artifice to enter multiple times will be deemed invalid. 

10. WINNERS LIST: For the names of the winners (available after December 15th, 2024), send a self-addressed stamped envelope by December 15th, 2025 to: Tallo Winners List, Attn: Eric Meadows, Stride, Inc., 11720 Plaza America Dr., 9th Floor, Reston, VA, 20190.
