ASSISTANTDIRECTOR OF NURSING

(ADON)

Full Time, Days Job Description:

• Assists in the preparation of a work schedule for all nursingpersonnel.
• Visits patients to insure maximum care andcommunicates with staff and physicians about daily nursingoperations.
• Assures the best patient care possible by supervisingand directing nursing personnel.
• Serves as a liaison for staffnursing and nurse management.
• Monitors the Quality AssuranceProgram of the facility.
• Assigns duties to professional nursesand non-professional nursing personnel and supervises and evaluateswork performance.
• Supervises the accuracy and maintenance of allnursing records and medical treatments.
• Acts as Infection ControlNurse for facility.
• Monitors decubiti weekly and reviews monthlydecubiti report.
• Handles disciplinary problems involving thenursing personnel in the facility.
• Performs other duties asassigned.

Job Requirements:

• Registered Nurse with a current andvalid RN license in North Carolina.
• Two (2) years of experience;prefer at least one (1) year experience in skilled nursing.
• Willing to be ‘on call’ per rotation basis for Facility.
• Genuineinterest in geriatric nursing.
• Ability to make decisionsregarding nursing and unit problems.
• Ability to supervise nursingstaff, assuring that work assignments are completed appropriatelyand timely.
• Must read, know, and follow personnel, department andfacility procedures, and adhere to local, state, and federalrequirements.
• Ability to work well under pressure, problem solve,and perform various jobs.
