- Director of Nursing (DON) Skilled Nursing.
This position willoversee all nursing aspects within the skilled nursing environment.
Must have a current state licensure as a RN in good standing, mustbe able to work the clinical floor, have a shared vision with theteam, focused on providing excellent clinical care, and present apositive attitude each day. Skilled Nursing experience is required.
POSITION SUMMARY
Overall supervision, provision, and quality ofnursing care in Care Services (Healthcare) and residentialapartments in accordance with SLC standards, policies andprocedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops, organizes and operatesthe nursing services for Skilled Nursing department.
- Works incollaboration with the Resident Care Director to provide qualitynursing care to residents.
- Ensures that significant clinicaldevelopments of residents are reported to their physicians, theMedical Director, the Executive Director and State (if necessary).
- Coordinates nursing services for Skilled Nursing residentsincluding the procurement of outside sources such as Home Health,private duty, Hospice, rehabilitation services, psychological, etc.
- Develops and maintains a schedule of daily rounds and assignmentsof duties for all nursing associates to assure 24 hour coveragesufficient to meet federal and state regulatory requirements aswell as SLC’s standards.
- Orders all nursing supplies, officesupplies and equipment for Skilled Nursing.
- Develops andparticipates in a new associate orientation program, includingprivate duty and agency associates.
- Attends and preparesnecessary information for Quarterly Assurance Meetings and annualpolicy reviews.
- Assumes the responsibilities of the Administratorin his/her absence.
- Serves “on-call” on weekends and after normalworking hours.
- Accepts “Manager on Duty” responsibilities asassigned by supervisor.
- Participates in and attends all requiredin-service training and education programs as scheduled.
- Otherduties as assigned.

The physicaldemands described here are representative of those that must be metby an employee to successfully perform the essential functions ofthis job.
- This position is very active and requires frequentstanding, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and climbing.
- Thisposition will be required to lift or carry weight up to 50 lbs. andability to push up to 250 pounds independently.
- The individualmust use proper body mechanics to assist residents in their dailyliving.
- This position regularly requires long hours and frequentnight and weekend work.
TRAVEL:
No travel is expected althoughoccasional travel may be required for training sessions, continuingeducation opportunities, emergency situations, and other companyfunctions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- BS degree froman accredited school of nursing. Registered nurse with a currentstate license.
- Certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid
- Twoyears’ experience in a similar healthcare position preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Ability to read,write, speak and understand English fluently.
- Ability to meet orexceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards.
- Ability to use Electronic Records and miscellaneous software andoffice equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow directions asgiven.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
