Position Overview:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department, including staffing, training, clinical services, and quality assurance. This leadership role plays a key part in creating a positive and supportive environment for both residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight for the nursing staff and care teams Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals Conduct staff training and performance evaluations Manage nursing department budgets, supplies, and scheduling Respond to resident and family concerns with professionalism and compassion Serve as a key member of the facility’s leadership team
Qualifications:
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing management experience, preferably in long-term care In-depth knowledge of nursing standards, infection control, and state/federal regulations (CMS, DOH, etc.) Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Proven ability to mentor, motivate, and build strong nursing teams Passion for improving resident care and staff satisfaction
