Finance Manager (Part-Time)

Job Description

Part-Time Finance Manager Hybrid:
15-20 hours per week, with half of the work performed in the office and half remotely Gracious Grounds - Grand Haven Gracious Grounds is seeking an experienced Part-Time Finance Manager to oversee our day-to-day accounting and financial operations while helping strengthen the systems, policies, and controls needed for our continued growth. Gracious Grounds is a nonprofit serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through independent-living apartment-style housing. With the opening of our new 77-unit Ability Way community in 2027, we are entering a significant period of organizational growth. What We Are Looking For We need someone who is comfortable both doing the accounting work and improving the systems behind it . The ideal candidate is dependable, accurate, organized, and willing to identify where processes need to be strengthened rather than simply maintaining the status quo. Primary Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online , including transaction coding, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, and supporting documentation. Process payroll through ADP , maintain payroll records, review payroll activity for accuracy, and reconcile payroll with the accounting system. Manage accounts payable through Ramp , including invoice review, approvals, expense coding, vendor payments, and monthly reconciliation. Oversee rent collection and other receivables, including recording payments, monitoring outstanding balances, and resolving discrepancies. Record and reconcile donations, grants, and restricted funds, and maintain accurate financial records for donor and grant reporting. Prepare monthly financial statements, budget-to-actual reports, cash-flow information, and other financial reports for the Executive Director and Board. Assist with annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and long-range financial planning. Prepare financial records and supporting documentation for audits or financial reviews, Form 990 preparation, outside accountants, grants, and other compliance requirements. Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and financial workflows to strengthen accuracy, accountability, and nonprofit accounting best practices. Identify discrepancies, financial risks, cash-flow concerns, or budget issues and communicate them promptly to the Executive Director. Qualifications Nonprofit accounting experience preferred Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or a related field Experience processing payroll Experience with QuickBooks Online, Ramp, preferred Experience with account reconciliation and financial reporting Experience with restricted funds, grants, and contribution accounting preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to maintain confidential financial and employee information Strong organizational and follow-through skills Ability to work independently and manage recurring deadlines Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred; relevant professional experience will also be considered Reports to:

$25.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week
