Job Description

PrideStaff is seeking an experienced Controller on behalf of an established, high-impact non-profit organization in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. This key executive role provides strategic financial stewardship, oversees multi-stream fiscal operations, and ensures organizational sustainability. Working closely with executive leadership and the Board of Directors, the Controller will lead financial strategy, direct daily accounting operations, and optimize internal controls.

Core Responsibilities:
Lead all day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, allocations, and financial close processes. Serve as primary strategic financial advisor to executive leadership and board committees on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term growth. Supervise internal accounting team members while managing relationships with external audit firms, tax professionals, investment advisors, and banking partners. Ensure strict compliance with
GAAP, FASB
regulations, public/private grant guidelines, and statutory reporting requirements. Maintain and enhance internal control systems, financial policies, and governance protocols to safeguard organizational assets. Lead annual audit preparation, tax filing processes, and mandatory regulatory reporting. Produce timely, accurate financial statements and actionable analytics for strategic decision-making.
Candidate Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA certification preferred). 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with preference given to non-profit, fund accounting, or grant-funded environments. Solid background in GAAP compliance, multi-source fund management, and financial forecasting. Proven ability to lead accounting staff and effectively manage third-party financial partners. Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills. Valid Florida Driver's License and ability to clear standard background checks.
Compensation / Pay
Rate (Up to): $100,000.00 - $145,000.00
