Job Description

About the role Innovative Resources for Independence (IRI) is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance Department. This role reports to the Director of Accounting Services and offers the opportunity to grow. This position is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial reports, assisting with audits, budgeting, account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and OPWDD regulations. What you'll do Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. Assist with financial statement preparation and budget-to-actual analysis. Support annual audits, CFR preparation, and regulatory reporting. Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, and balance sheet accounts. Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures. Collaborate with Finance, HR, and program leadership on financial matters. Take on additional accounting and financial analysis projects as they arise. What you bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, or OPWDD organization required. Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting. Excellent analytical, organizational and strong communication skills Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency. Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail. $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
