full-time Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent with a proven background in ground-up hotel and hospitality construction . This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day field leadership of hotel construction projects from initial site activities through final completion and turnover. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of construction experience , including direct experience managing ground-up hotel projects , and a strong understanding of the unique scheduling, quality, coordination, and finish requirements associated with hospitality construction. This position requires a hands-on field leader who can effectively manage subcontractors, maintain aggressive project schedules, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate closely with project management, ownership, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day field leadership for ground-up hotel construction projects from site mobilization through certificate of occupancy and final turnover . Manage and coordinate subcontractors, trades, vendors, deliveries, and field personnel. Develop, maintain, and execute short-term construction schedules while supporting the overall master project schedule. Coordinate all phases of construction, including: Sitework and utilities Foundations Structural systems Building envelope and waterproofing Roofing Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems Interior framing and drywall Hotel guestrooms and bathrooms Corridors and common areas Lobby, amenity, and back-of-house spaces Interior finishes and FF&E coordination Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation to ensure work is completed according to contract requirements. Conduct daily site inspections and proactively identify construction, quality, sequencing, or scheduling issues. Coordinate subcontractor activities to minimize conflicts and maintain efficient workflow. Work closely with the Project Manager to address schedule changes, change orders, RFIs, material issues, and field conditions. Lead subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and daily/weekly field planning. Maintain high standards for workmanship, particularly during the interior finish and punch-list phases of hotel construction. Coordinate inspections with local authorities and ensure projects meet applicable building codes and permitting requirements. Oversee project closeout, punch-list completion, commissioning, inspections, and turnover. Maintain accurate daily reports documenting manpower, subcontractor activities, deliveries, weather conditions, progress, and significant project events. Enforce company and project-specific safety policies and maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite. Build productive working relationships with subcontractors, project management, ownership representatives, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. Required Qualifications 5+ years of construction experience , preferably in a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent capacity. Proven ground-up hotel construction experience is required. Experience taking a hotel or similar hospitality project through multiple phases of construction, preferably from sitework/foundation through turnover . Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, and scheduling. Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously. Strong knowledge of structural, architectural, MEP, building-envelope, and interior-finish construction. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documents. Strong understanding of jobsite safety requirements and construction best practices. Ability to identify potential schedule and coordination problems before they negatively impact the project. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain quality standards while working within demanding hotel construction schedules. Proficiency with common construction management and scheduling technology. Preferred Experience Preference will be given to candidates with experience involving: Ground-up select-service, full-service, extended-stay, or luxury hotel construction Concrete and/or structural steel construction Multi-story commercial construction Hotel guestroom and repetitive-unit construction Complex MEP coordination Hotel interior finishes and FF&E installation Brand-standard inspections and turnover requirements Projects involving Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, or similar major hospitality brands Projects managed from groundbreaking through final certificate of occupancy and owner turnover Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a field-driven construction professional who understands hotel construction from the ground up . This person should be equally comfortable managing structural and MEP phases as they are overseeing guestrooms, common areas, finishes, punch lists, and final turnover. We are specifically seeking someone who has personally worked on ground-up hotel projects , rather than a candidate whose background is limited primarily to hotel renovations, tenant improvements, or general commercial construction. The successful candidate will be capable of taking ownership of the field operation, holding subcontractors accountable, anticipating problems, maintaining the schedule, and delivering a high-quality hospitality project that is ready for successful owner and brand turnover.
